Air-fryer Fries
When my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I didn't even hesitate in answering.... an Air Fryer! And I am soooooo glad that is what I got. The best addition to my kitchen gadgetry. A healthier alternative to cooking many things of our comfort foods, from fries to shrimp, potato chips to egg rolls, and even my daughters chicken nuggets. I highly recommend this appliance to anyone and everyone.
Ingredients
4 russet potatoes, peeled
4 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 pinch paprika, or to taste
Russet Potatoes are the best potato for making fries - they have a high starch content, and low moisture content - which is key to the perfect fries (for a healthier option, you can use sweet potatoes as an alternative).
Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch logs and place in salted cold water for 30 minutes to get the excess starch out of the potato.
After 30 minutes, rinse the potatoes and pat dry with paper towel. Place potatoes in a bowl. In another bowl combine olive oil, salt, pepper and paprika.
Preheat the AirFryer to 400°F for a few minutes. Coat the potatoes with the seasoned oil, and place potatoes in air fryer baske
